The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to treat physical and spiritual diseases with the means and medicines he used, or the things he pointed out and explained their benefits and harms for the treatment of various diseases, are also mentioned in the books of Hadith and Biography. Many scholars have combined these things and named them as Prophetic Medicine. Among them, Imam Ibn Qayyim’s book, Prophetic Medicine, is worth mentioning, and in the modern era, the books of Dr. Khalid Ghaznavi are also worth reading. In view of the importance and usefulness of medicine, it is being studied as a science, and many famous Imams and scholars of Hadith were also expert physicians. In India, medicine has also been taught regularly in Islamic schools and was also established in separate medical colleges. And many famous scholars and sheikhs of Hadith in India were expert physicians and healers. Muhaddith of the Age, Allama Hafiz Muhammad Gondalvi, studied medicine from Medical College, Delhi, and secured first position in the college. Many scholars, having acquired the knowledge of medicine, made it their source of livelihood and performed the duty of preaching and spreading religion in the path of Allah. The book under review, “Respiratory Diseases and Their Treatment by the Prophet ﷺ,” is the work of the famous Dr. Khalid Ghaznavi of the Ghaznavi family. The author has explained the treatment of respiratory diseases in this book in a very good way in the light of the verses of the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The doctor has explained the medical interpretation of this blessed verse in the Quran: \"There has come to you an admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts, and guidance and mercy for the believers.\" In this book, the doctor has described the Holy Quran as a manifestation of healing for all chest problems (whether they are organic or psychological). Apart from this book, Dr. Khalid Ghaznavi is the author of about six books on medicine. May Allah Almighty accept his efforts and make his books beneficial for the general public.
