No student of history can forget the mind-boggling feat that this man accomplished by changing the course of Islamic and world history, the way he established the weak Turkish empire on solid foundations, and the way he established Islam in Europe despite severe difficulties and fierce resistance from Christian powers. At such a critical time, when on the one hand, the Muslims had stopped their advance due to the united efforts of the Crusaders in Western Europe, and on the other hand, the Byzantine Empire stood in the way of the Muslims like the Alexandrian Dam in Eastern Europe, this man of courage had the courage to confront the Roman Empire, regardless of insurmountable difficulties, and through his heroic efforts, conquered its capital, Constantinople, which was at that time the largest and most stable city in Eastern Europe, which the Muslims had not been able to capture despite their efforts for the past eight hundred years, and destroyed the power of the Byzantine Empire. The reign of Sultan Mehmed II is considered the most powerful reign of the Ottoman Turks. During his reign, the administration of the empire was established on a solid foundation and the work of formulating new laws began to meet the needs of the modern era. Due to the increasing conquests in Asia Minor and Europe, the fear and dominance of this newborn empire was established over the neighboring empires. Since Sultan Muhammad the Conqueror was interested in literature and poetry in addition to the arts of war, thanks to royal patronage, these sciences and arts got the opportunity to flourish there and the Ottoman Empire became the cradle of science, literature and fine arts. This book describes in detail the amazing feats of this courageous and determined person. (Sheikh Muhammad Ahmed Panipati)

If we study the history of this era of Muslims, when they were suffering from the Crusades, were spreading across the world by making conquests and were raising the flag of Islam in countries, then we come across many personalities and entities who created new history. These military experts and generals spread the message of Islam far and wide. One of such historical figures was Sultan Muhammad the Conqueror, who conquered Constantinople. After its conquest, it was named “Islambol” and is now known as Istanbul. The city was under the rule of the Roman Empire from 330 to 395 and then from 395 to 1453 it was the capital of the Byzantine Empire, which called it “New Rome”. The city still exists today at the crossroads of Europe and Asia and is now the capital of Turkey, located on the Bosphorus Strait. The city is divided into two parts and a grand bridge is the means of travel between the two parts. History records that Istanbul was conquered by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1453, which later remained the capital of the Ottoman Empire for 470 years and in 1953 Mustafa Kemal Ataturk made it the capital of modern Turkey or the Turkish Republic and changed its name from Constantinople to Istanbul. This book tells the story and history of the conquest of this grand city. This is a book by an Arabic author, Muhammad Mustafa Safwat, whose Arabic name is “Fath al-Qastan al-Tananiyyah wa Seerat al-Sultan Muhammad al-Fatih”, which has been translated into Urdu by Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Panipati. The publisher has also included historical photographs in the book. In particular, photographs of the historic grand mosque of Istanbul, which is famous as “Ayasofya” or Saint Sophia and holds an exemplary position in its architecture and decoration. After conquering Constantinople, Sultan Muhammad al-Fatih had further additions and carvings made to it, and today it is a museum, where many historical relics are present. Fortunately, I also had the honor of seeing it in 1973, where the relics of the Holy Prophet of the End Times, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), are kept, including his blessed hair and the blessed footprints, and in addition to other relics and relics, the copy of the Holy Quran, while reciting which Hazrat Usman Ghani was martyred, is also kept. This mosque is truly the beacon of Istanbul, visible from all four corners of the city.
