Jami' al-Tirmidhi (also known as Sunan al-Tirmidhi) is one of the most important hadith books among the six most authentic books of Islam (Sahah Sitta). It was compiled by Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa al-Tirmidhi (209 AH - 279 AH), a prominent student of Imam Bukhari. The book contains a total of 3,956 hadiths. Salient features of the book: Jurisprudential arrangement: The book is arranged according to jurisprudential chapters (such as prayer, zakat, marriage) so that general readers and jurists can easily find the Sharia rulings. Description of the degrees of hadith: Imam Tirmidhi first gave great prominence to the term "good hadith" for hadiths. After each hadith, he clearly mentions whether it is authentic, hasan or da'eef. Mention of the schools of jurisprudence: After narrating the hadith, Imam Tirmidhi also explains what the actions or stance of the companions, followers and other great jurists (such as Imam Shafi'i, Imam Ahmad, etc.) were on this issue. Kitab al-Ill: At the end of the book, he has included an important treatise on the science of hadith, "al-Illal al-Sughra", which is based on the nuances of hadith and the principles of checking narrators.
