Nukhbat Ul Ahadith

The Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) are the basic sources of the Islamic religion. Scholars have served in many ways and respects to preserve the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The compilation of hadith began during the time of the Prophet (ﷺ) and flourished during the era of the Companions and his followers. It flourished greatly during the era of the Imams of Hadith. Different Imams of Hadith compiled many collections of hadiths. It is very difficult for the general public to consult these voluminous collections. In view of the need of the general public, many scholars have prepared short collections of hadiths, including a collection of 100 hadiths compiled by Maulana Syed Muhammad Dawood Ghaznavi, a knowledgeable person by Allah, in a short and comprehensive treatise called “Nakhbat al-Ahadith” which contains complete guidance on worship, affairs, ethics, and manners, etc. Due to the excellent selection of the aforementioned, this book is often included in the curriculum of religious schools. The book under consideration, “Tufat al-Ahadith”, is a clear, concise and understandable translation of the book Nakhbat al-Ahadith by Maulana Dawood Ghaznavi. The addition of lexical explanations and benefits by the translator is certainly very useful for elementary students. The translator has also summarized all the hadiths so that they can easily refer to the original sources. May Allah Almighty make this book useful and grant the author and translator the honor of acceptance (Amen) (M.A.)
