Al Jamal Wal Kamal

Al Jamal Wal Kamal is a profound Urdu tafsir of Surah Yusuf — the 12th Surah of the Holy Quran — authored by Qazi Muhammad Sulaiman Salman Mansoorpuri, one of the most celebrated Islamic scholars and biographers of the Indian subcontinent. Published by Maktaba Islamia, this 304-page hardcover is widely regarded as one of the finest single-Surah commentaries in the Urdu language.

Surah Yusuf stands apart in the Quran as the only Surah narrating a complete and self-contained story — the life of Prophet Yusuf (عليه السلام) — encompassing themes of patience, chastity, divine wisdom, and ultimate triumph. Qazi Sahib began writing this tafsir in Mecca in June 1921 and completed it within two months, combining deep Quranic scholarship with rich historical research.

Beyond the tafsir itself, the work includes a comprehensive history of Egypt — its rivers, canals, mountains, pyramids, rulers, and dynasties — making it an extraordinarily enriching read for both students of Quran and history alike.
