JANG-E-AZEEM AWWAL: ASL KAHANI KYA HAI?

Dr. Mujahid Kamran was born in 1951 in Gujrat, Punjab province. He received his early education from Sir Syed School and Gordon College in Rawalpindi. After obtaining his MSc degree from the Department of Physics, Punjab University in 1971, he started his career as a lecturer in the same department in 1972. He received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh, UK in 1979. Dr. Mujahid became a professor in 1990 and was appointed head of the Department of Physics in 1995. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Science from 2004 to 2007 and then the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University from January 2008 to December 2016. This is a record for holding this position continuously. Dr. Mujahid was the head of the University of Lahore from 2021 to 2017. Since September 2023, he has been serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Grand Asian University, Sialkot.
Dr. Mujahid was awarded the Abdul Salam Prize in 1985 for his research efforts, and the National Book Council’s First Prize for Best Research in 1986. In recognition of his services in the field of education, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance in 1999 and the Star of Excellence in 2015. He is the author of more than 60 research articles, mostly published in journals from developed countries. He is also the author of 18 books on various subjects. His book “The Founders of Modern Physics” also received an award from the National Book Council in 2000. His book on 9/11 has a five-star rating on Amazon. Dr. Mujahid was a Senior Full-Time Fellow at the University of Georgia, USA, from 1988-89. He also has the distinction of being an Associate and Senior Associate at the Abdul Salam ICTP, Italy. He was also a Professor at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia from 2004-2001.
