Dr. Buddha Prakash, an important researcher and historian from Indian Punjab, is known for doing valuable research work on ancient Indian history. He obtained MA, LLB, PhD and D.Litt degrees from various universities. Later, he entered the teaching field and became a professor of Indian history, culture and archaeology. For some time, he was the Director of the Indic Studies Department at Kurukshetra University (Kurukshetra). After that, he joined Punjabi University (Patiala) and served as the Director of the Department of Ancient History and Culture. During this time, he authored important research books, of which “Maharaja Purus” is a prominent work. Among the few historians who have done research on Purus in the subcontinent, the name of Professor Buddha Prakash is considered a very important and authoritative reference.

Professor Hamidullah Shah Hashmi, a prominent scholar, renowned writer and translator, was born on May 27, 1937 in Toba Tek Singh. His love for Urdu, English, Punjabi and Saraiki languages and literature is evident in his work. He has been continuing this service to science and literature for the past fifty years. More than 100 scientific, literary and research books have been written by him. In 2021, he was awarded the Medal of Excellence by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his literary services.
